Passion is a Virtue
Dec 31, 2021
Originally part of The Sauceress' 2020 12 days of Tiki, this tropical, decadent recipe is the perfect tiki cocktail to re-create at home as a boozy dessert this New Years Eve. Wishing you and yours all the best in the New Year!
Passion is a Virtue
x The Sauceress
Makes one large cocktail (or two small)
1 oz Tiki Rum (@cardinalspirits)
.5 oz Banana Bourbon (@howlerheadwhiskey)
1/2 oz Creme de Cassis
1 oz Passion fruit purée
1 oz coconut cream
.25 oz El Guapo® Cajun Grenadine
8 dashes El Guapo® Polynesian Kiss Bitters
Squeeze of fresh lime juice
Dehydrated blood orange wheel and edible flowers, to garnish
Combine bourbon, cassis and grenadine. Pour into the bottom of your glass. Separately, combine rum, passion fruit purae, coconut cream, bitters and a small squeeze of lime in a mixing glass. Stir well. Fill glass entirely with crushed or nugget ice. Fine strain rum mixture gentle onto the top of your drink so it floats above your first layer. Garnish with dehydrated blood orange wheel and some simple flowers. Stir to combine the layers before sipping and it becomes a beautiful rosy color. This glass was pretty small.
Pro Tip: This recipe actually yielded enough for two drinks this size, or one big one.
