Why Ginger and Cherry Make the Perfect Margarita

This cocktail shines by pairing two bold, expressive flavors:

  • Sour cherry delivers rich, tart fruitiness that adds depth without being overly sweet.
  • Ginger brings warm spice and a lively aromatic kick, adding dimension and balance.

Layer in the smoky, savory edge of mezcal, and you’ve got a cocktail that’s bright, bold and beautifully complex the kind of margarita that gets remembered.

Expert Tips

Pro Tips for the Best Margarita

  • Choose your vessel: A lowball glass keeps it classic, but a chilled coupe adds instant elegance.
  • Dial up the ginger: El Guapo Ginger Syrup ensures clean, consistent heat. Prefer fresh ginger? Muddle a thin slice before shaking.
  • Rim or no rim? A sugar rim highlights the cherry; a chili-lime rim adds extra kick. Choose your adventure.
