If y’all love a drink that is sweet with a little fire, the Watermelon Mezcalrita is calling your name. This spicy watermelon margarita comes from David Baldwin of Ponysaurus Brewing. It blends fresh watermelon with smoky mezcal and chile liqueurs for a bold, bright cocktail.
It is the ultimate watermelon lime margarita. El Guapo Fuego Bitters lift the heat and bring everything together.

What is a Watermelon Mezcalrita?
A mezcalrita is a margarita built with mezcal instead of tequila. Mezcal adds smoke and depth. This version turns the classic into a spicy summer favorite. Fresh watermelon brings sweetness. Mezcal brings complexity. Chile liqueurs and Fuego Bitters add layered heat. The result is refreshing with a slow burn.

Layering the Spice: Fuego Bitters in a Mezcalrita
Fuego Bitters add intentional heat. They deepen the smoky mezcal and amplify the chile liqueurs. The bitters carry habanero and chipotle notes that cut through the sweetness of watermelon. This keeps the drink bold, balanced and full of aromatic spice.
