Demerara
Southern Sugar with a Storied Past 🥃
Our single-origin Demerara is rich, complex, and undeniably Southern. Made in partnership with Alma Sugarcane Mill in Lakeland, Louisiana, this rich simple syrup is crafted from regionally grown raw sugar and finished with a touch of dried orange peel for nuance and balance. It’s thick, golden, and packed with flavor — perfect for cocktails, coffee, and culinary use.
How to Mix:
A staple for classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned, Sazerac, or Milk Punch. Try it in a whiskey sour, stirred into cold brew, or drizzled over waffles and vanilla ice cream. Pro tip: it bakes beautifully.
Why You’ll Love It:
• Single Origin: Louisiana raw sugar cane
• No artificial ingredients
• 2:1 traditional rich syrup recipe
• Alcohol-free and spirit-optional
• Woman-owned and made in New Orleans
What Is Demerara?
Demerara sugar is a coarse, golden raw sugar with natural molasses and a light caramel flavor. It’s named after the former colony of Demerara, where this style of sugar was first exported. It has a richer flavor than simple syrup and is often used in classic cocktails.

A Quick Note on Sustainability:
Here in New Orleans, we live on the front lines of climate change. We hand-dip each bottle in wax to avoid adding single use plastic seals to landfills. We use glass packaging and print our labels on recycled kraft paper for maximum sustainability. The apothecary look and feel of our packaging is as intentional as it is beautiful. We’re here to make delicious drinks and help keep Louisiana on the map — literally. [Read more about how we keep it clean and green.]
