What Makes This a Spicy Mezcal Margarita?
The secret to this cocktail’s fiery kick is a combination of two key elements: the El Guapo™ Fuego Bitters and the Tajin rim. While the Tajin provides a signature blend of chili, salt, and dehydrated lime, our Fuego Bitters add a deep, natural heat that enhances the smoky character of the mezcal. This harmonious blend of flavors makes it a perfectly balanced spicy mezcal margarita that is both exciting and easy to drink.

The Fiery Heart of the Spicy Mezcal Margarita
The authentic heat and savory profile of this Tajin margarita recipe come from the dynamic pairing of the spiced rim and the El Guapo™ Fuego Bitters. While Tajin provides the tangy chili-salt coating, the Fuego Bitters are essential for injecting a concentrated, complex heat directly into the liquid. This ensures the spicy mezcal margarita achieves a bold, layered flavor that enhances the smoky mezcal and cuts through the sweetness of the cordial for a truly unforgettable sip.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Tajin?
Tajin is a popular Mexican seasoning made from a simple blend of mild chili peppers, dehydrated lime, and sea salt. It has a distinctive savory, tangy, and slightly spicy flavor that's perfect for fruits, vegetables, and cocktail rims.
What is the difference between mezcal and tequila?
Both mezcal and tequila are made from agave, but mezcal can be made from over 30 different types of agave, while tequila can only be made from blue agave. The main difference in flavor comes from the production process; mezcal is traditionally cooked in earthen pits, which gives it a characteristic smoky flavor that is not present in most tequilas.
What are Fuego Bitters?
El Guapo™ Fuego Bitters are a type of chili bitters designed to add a layered, spicy heat to cocktails. They are crafted with real chili peppers and other botanicals to provide a complex flavor that is more nuanced than simple hot sauce.
