The 'Sweep The Leg' Cocktail Recipe

This recipe makes one cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz El Guapo™ Watermelon Cordial (home recipe below)
  • .75 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp Chareau Aloe Liqueur
  • 1 pinch, cilantro
  • Watermelon wedge, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a clean shaker filled with ice, combine tequila, El Guapo™ Watermelon Cordial, fresh lime juice, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, and a pinch of cilantro.
  2. Shake thoroughly until the mixture is well chilled.
  3. Double strain the liquid into a Collins glass.
  4. Garnish with a watermelon wedge before serving.


How to Create Watermelon Cordial at Home

This homemade cordial is the key to creating a truly authentic watermelon cordial cocktail.

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 4 cups of watermelon juice (pulp only, no rinds!)
  • 2 pounds of sugar
  • A large heavy bottomed saucepan
  • Cheesecloth
  • Funnel
  • A mason jar or other storage container

Instructions

  1. Pour the watermelon juice and sugar into the saucepan. Heat slowly and stir until all the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Simmer on low for up to two hours, until the liquid is reduced by half.
  3. Remove from the heat and cool to room temperature.
  4. Strain the liquid through a cheesecloth and use a funnel to pour it into a storage container.
  5. The cordial will keep for up to three weeks if properly refrigerated.
