Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it called a watermelon sour cocktail?

This drink is a watermelon sour cocktail because it follows the classic "sour" formula of a spirit, a citrus element (lemon juice and cordial), and a sweetener (watermelon juice), with the addition of egg white for a frothy texture.

What is the purpose of the egg white?

The egg white is a key ingredient in many sour cocktails. When shaken vigorously, it creates a rich, silky foam that gives the drink a smooth mouthfeel and a visually appealing top layer. The egg white itself adds no flavor.

Can I make this prosecco watermelon cocktail in a large batch?

Yes, this prosecco watermelon cocktail is excellent for batching. Simply combine all ingredients except the egg white and Prosecco in a pitcher and refrigerate. When ready to serve, shake individual servings with the egg white and top with Prosecco.
